Divyasri Thanigachalam
Kum. Divyasri Thanigachalam has been learning the Pandanallur style of Bharatanatyam since the age of three under the dedicated guidance of Smt. Kausi Subramaniam, founder and artistic director of Kalalaya Indian Performing Arts. In 2024, she portrayed the powerful role of “Udaiyal” (Goddess of Tamil) in the Mangaiyar Thee dance production presented at FETNA.
Divyasri has earned numerous accolades for her excellence in Bharatanatyam. She is the winner of the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival Dance Competition 2025 and a National Champion at FETNA, winning titles in 2022 in New Jersey and again in 2024 in San Antonio. She is also a National Champion at America Natya Idol in 2025, and a three-time CRY America Superstar Winner (2022, 2023, and 2024). In addition, she is the Rise to Fame Winner 2024 and has won several local and school competitions, consistently earning recognition for her artistry and dedication.
Born and raised in the United States, Divyasri deeply values the cultural heritage of Bharatanatyam and approaches each performance with authenticity and respect for tradition. Beyond dance, she has also won several awards in Tamil cultural competitions, including Tamil drama, Tamil Pechu Potti (speech), and Thirukkural competitions at FETNA, showcasing her strong connection to the Tamil language and culture.
